Sim centre and Gisimba Orphanage

I'm back in Rwanda for a quick trip to finish the work on the simulation and skills centre we are establishing.  It's great to be here again, my second home.  Michelle and I have had a very busy couple of days.  We ignored the jet lag and got off early to the sim centre to check out the renovations and meet with our friends and colleagues.  Everyone is well and sends greetings to their many friends in Halifax. Today we visited the Gisimba Orphanage to see Karim and Brune, the children Alex and I are sponsoring.  Karim came up to me and said, "Mama Alex", my identity at Gisimba Orphanage.  Brune is a little more shy but jumped up into my arms.  They were both happy to get soccer gear (thanks Michelle), teddy bears and a chess set for Karim and beading set for Brune.  Brune showed amazing dexterity in threading the needle and quickly made two bracelets.  Karim played chess with Keith, our surgery friend from Halifax, and quickly checkmated.  You must have taught him well, Alex.
